Care Ring Hits the Jackpot! Casino Night a Huge Success!
The 4th Annual Casino Night to benefit Care Ring was a huge success, raising over $43,000 to support Care Ring’s programs and services for Charlotte’s uninsured and underinsured residents. “This was our biggest event ever and we appreciate the community’s extraordinary support”, says Scott Hamer, President of the Young Professionals Council which conceived the event four years ago.
More than 300 guests filled eXtravaganza Depot to capacity and enjoyed a spirited evening of Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Texas Hold’em. Guests dined on Southern Cuisine donated by Charlotte’s new Leroy Fox restaurant. Beverages were donated by Anheuser-Busch, Canteen, Knauff Insurance and various wine establishments in town and throughout the region.
As the evening’s activities drew nigh and the Texas Hold’em tournament wrapped up, guests converted their gaming fun money into raffle tickets and played the game of chance to win baskets chock-full of items donated by local merchants. This year’s baskets included Sports Galore, Girls Night Out, Skin Deep/Skin Care, Pamper ME!, Dog – My Best Friend, Charlotte’s Music Scene, Comfort Foods, Beer and Pizza Party, Fitness Fun, Wine and Gourmet, and NASCAR – Car Care.
A mini-silent auction raised over $17,000 and featured unique gifts and services donated by local businesses and loyal friends of Care Ring. Items included weeklong vacation packages to Bald Head Island, a special weekend stay at the Banner Elk Winery and Villa Bed and Breakfast, flying lessons and scenic flights over Charlotte, skydiving, a sunset sail for 2 on Lake Norman, Backyard BBQ for 20, a catered affair by Rotelli, dinner for 4 at Chef Jim Noble’s King’s Table, comprehensive dental packages for healthy teeth and brighter smiles, John Hardy jewelry from Fink’s, a beach cruiser bike & helmet from Regions Bank, and so much more.
